Wine Without the Wine Country

Small-batch reds and blends, crushed and aged three blocks from the Port of Oakland — no vineyard, no estate, just fruit we trust.

Every lot sourced directly from growers we've worked harvests with for years — nothing here is grown to a formula.

Small-Batch

Our Wines

Small-lot reds and blends from growers across Northern California, crushed and bottled here in West Oakland.

2015 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley

Fleshy, dark berry fruits and warm spice fill the palate, supported by a barely perceptible touch of oak.

2015 Reserve Pinot Noir

Fredericksburg

Notes of rose petal, earth, cherry cola, and baking spices. Soft and supple in the mouth, with cherry, wild herbs, and strawberry on the palate. A lengthy finish…

2015 Riesling

Okanagan

Pale golden yellow color with aromas of brioche, toasted vanilla bean, candied apple and shortbread.

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley

Fleshy, dark berry fruits and warm spice fill the palate, supported by a barely perceptible touch of oak.

2016 Pinot Gris

Elkton

Plum, bramble, licorice, cedar and a whiff of gunpowder tea on the nose. Layers of earth and spice, with fine tannins and bright acidity.

Our Story

Built Where the Rail Yard Used to Be

Fault Line Cellars started in 2016 in a stripped-down warehouse a few blocks from the Port of Oakland — no inherited vineyard, no family estate. Just a crush pad, a forklift, and fruit we drove in ourselves from growers we already knew.

We don't own a single acre. We source small lots from growers across Mendocino, Contra Costa, and the Sierra Foothills, then do everything else — crush, ferment, age, blend — right here in West Oakland, where we can taste what we're making every single day.

Winemaking

Small Lots, No Formula

Native-yeast ferments in small, mixed lots — nothing here is built to hit a style guide. We taste constantly, blend by feel, and bottle unfiltered more often than not. If a lot doesn't earn its place, it doesn't ship.

Loved by Guests & Critics

Proof you don't need three generations and a hillside to make something worth aging.

Wine Spectator

No pretension, no vineyard tour — just really well-made wine and people who clearly love making it.

Guest review

One of the most interesting warehouses in the East Bay — these blends taste like nowhere else in California.
